Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara for a Doll-eye and Approachable Look

If you like stunning-looking lashes that curl almost 90 degrees towards the sky and set quickly, Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara may just be what you are looking for.

Now, before you run out to the stores to lay your hands on the magic wand, please stay on to read about one major flaw that limited my usage in 2016, but I’ve learnt to overcome it today.

What’s Good about Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara?

1. Big Big Doll Eyes

Want a doll-eye look? Lancome Hypnose Mascara curls lashes so well they can make the eyes look substantially bigger. Not forgetting helping you look friendlier and more approachable. 

2. Curl that Sets in a Flash

Lancome Hypnose Mascara works like a hard-hold hair spray. Once applied, the lashes are held in place and the mascara dries quickly for a long-lasting curl. 

3. The curls lasts forever

One reason why I’ve grown to love this mascara in 2022 is its super lasting curl. At the end of the work day, my curls would still look as fresh as it was when I first applied in the day. It’s like the law of gravity doesn’t apply to this mascara. :)

4. Clump-free Formula

Like most good quality mascara, Lancome Hypnose Mascara offers an effortless clump-free experience. Each strand is coated evenly, and it is almost impossible to create clump out of this formula.

5. Waterproof

It’s waterproof – I’ve just tested it. Even with an oil-based cleanser, it took me longer than usual to remove the mascara.

What’s Bad? 

1. More Strokes to Coat Lashes

Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara comes with a small cone-shaped brush. Although it’s easier to maneuver when compared to another mascara that I owned (Benefit’s they’re real), it still loses out to my holy grail mascara. More strokes is required to coat the lashes. 

Update (2022): Perhaps, I’ve gotten used to Hypnose mascara. Today, I don’t notice the extra strokes required to coat the lashes as compared to Lancome Virtuose Precious Cells. For info, I still own both and enjoy using them. 

2. It Smudges!

This is the main reason that kept me from using Lancome Hypnose Mascara. It smudges! The smudge is very pronounced on the lower lids, creating a baby panda look.

Update (2022): I’ve learnt to use Hypnose only on my upper lashes. For the lower ones, I stick to my Virtuose Precious Cells. 

 

3. Not Cheap, dear! 

This mascara costs S$50. Not cheap but I like how it gives me long-lasting curls and a big-eye look. There is a high chance that I may repurchase this mascara.

Recommendation

If you love a big-eye look and want a mascara that is waterproof and offers long-lasting curl, Lancome Hypnose Mascara is worth a try. Just try to find another mascara for your lower lashes. :) Rating: 4.5/5
