3 months ago, I took a risk and brought along a never-tried-before moisturiser – Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream – to Guangzhou for a vacation. Admittedly, I was worried.Â
“What if the cream is not moisturising enough?”
“Would it clog my pores and cause me to break out?”Â
Thankfully, Nameraka Honpo did not fail me. In fact, the Wrinkle Gel Cream surpassed my expectations in at least two ways, which I’ll elaborate more later. Prior to that, let’s understand a bit more about Nameraka Honpo including my past experience with this brand.
The brand: About Nameraka Honpo
Nameraka Honpo is a brand that originates in Japan. The key ingredient used in its products is soymilk isoflavones which is known to brighten skin tone and improve aging skin. You can read more about the brand in one of my earlier reviews.Â
So far, I’ve tried six Nameraka Honpo products of which three were reviewed at myBeautyCravings.com. A click on the brand tag helped me recap the review scores and I was surprised to see that all products received high ratings. No wonder my subconscious mind allowed me to bring an untested Nameraka Honpo cream for a trip.Â

Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream
Let’s dive into the product we are reviewing today – Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream. It is a cream under the “aging care” line and marketed as a 5-in-1 gel that functions as a lotion, serum, emulsion, cream and mask.
Other than fermented soymilk, this “convenient” cream also contains pure retinol, a popular skincare ingredient known for its ability to neutralize free radicals from the skin and boost production of elastin and collagen.
With all the ingredients combined, Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream is said to help hydrate your skin, maintain its elasticity and diminish the appearance of fine wrinkles.
So, did this gel cream fare well in meeting its marketing claims? Without any further ado, let’s find out 6 great things about Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream.
6 Reasons for loving Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream
1. It’s convenient and quick!
For time-strapped busy ladies, this 5-in-1 cream is a godsend. Instead of applying five products – layer by layer – and waiting for them to dry in between, this Wrinkle Gel Cream can speed up your beauty routine significantly.
I would normally skip the toner and emulsion and just top up with a good layer of sunblock (and makeup thereafter).Â
2. Travel-friendly
For the same reason above, this cream is great for traveling. Instead of packing multiple skincare products overseas, I only needed one cream that does it all.Â
I was initially skeptical about Nameraka Honpo’s claim, but my experience in Guangzhou this January debunked any doubts I had.
During then, Guangzhou was drier and colder than Singapore. On some days, the temperature dropped below 15°C. My skin usually suffers from dryness and flaky skin under such a climate.Â
But my skin remained moisturised and supple throughout the trip.Â
3. Offers Sufficient moisture to aging skin
Skin in the 40s and beyond typically require richer cream to hydrate our drier skin. Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream met this requirement as my face felt sufficiently-moisturised – whether in Singapore or overseas.
I’ve since used the Wrinkle Gel Cream for at least three months and have not experienced dehydrated or flaky skin.Â
It’s good to also share my current skincare pairing – I would apply Decorte Liposome Serum first before topping with Nameraka Honpo Gel Cream. I believe the pair is a great skincare combo that worked hand-in-hand to balance my skin’s moisture level.

4. Pimple-prone skin? No worries!
A blotched CO2 fractional laser procedure over a decade ago left my skin with multiple tiny pores, and I’ve been prone to pimples ever since.Â
Glad to share that Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream is friendly to pimple-prone skin – zero zits thus far.Â
5. Truly value for money
When purchasing this All-in-one Gel Cream, I saw that it came with a good quantity of 100g, almost double or triple that of other moisturisers. I didn’t think it was generous then as the impression I had of 5-in-1 cream was the need to apply a bigger dab per application.Â
I was wrong. The amount needed was not much different as compared to using other dedicated cream. Hence, this 100g can really go a long way and is great bang for the buck.Â
6. Price of Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream
Right now, Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream is selling at Y1,500. This converts to under S$15.
For a 100g cream, this is really quite affordable. Â
Should you buy Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Gel Cream?Â
I would normally include a section to share the not-so-great-things about a product under review. Happy to share that I couldn’t find any “bad things” on Nameraka Honpo Gel Cream.Â
Therefore, if you are looking for a cream that can provide sufficient moisture to aging skin, do check out Nameraka Honpo Gel cream. This cream, as shared earlier, is also great for travelling. Rating: 5/5.
