Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant: Gentle alternative to harsh peels for radiant skin

Have you tried any skincare from Urban Jungle? I’ve recently received a media drop and like to introduce this new beauty brand and one of its products – Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant. This product is said to “sweep away dead skin and leave your skin silky smooth”.

Before we dive in, let’s find out more about the brand.

Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant

Welcome, Urban Jungle!

Urban Jungle is a relatively new brand, having recently launched in Singapore in Jun 2025.

Founded in Australia in 2020, this brand aims to set itself apart by being inclusive, accessible and offering affordable and easy-to-use products. While Australian owned, its products are made in Korea. You can read more about the brand’s mission here.

The first product I’m trying is a skin exfoliator, and I’ll share my first impressions below.

Introducing Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant

To ensure our skin looks fresh, radiant and youthful, it is important to exfoliate regularly. I’m not a stranger to skin exfoliation, having tried DIY chemical peels and professionally-administered ones such as VI peel and Secret Duo.

Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant differs from other exfoliating products and treatments I’ve tried by being fuss-free and quick to use – you can easily add it into your regular beauty routine. Here’s how!

How to use Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant?

After cleansing, shake 1-2 drops onto hands or cotton pad and swipe over face and neck.

  • Use it morning or night
  • Start with once weekly and slowly work your way to 3 times per week if desired.
  • Suitable for all skin types

What are the benefits?

Urban Jungle Swipe Right exfoliant promises radiant and smooth skin by sweeping away dead skin cells.

How does it work?

The exfoliant contains PHA (3% Gluconolactone), the gentle cousin of AHAs (e.g. Glycolic acid and lactic acid) and BHAs (e.g. salicylic acid).

What is PHA?

PHA, or Polyhydroxy Acid is known to be gentle on the skin and hence suitable even for those with sensitive skin.  Their larger molecular structure meant that they don’t penetrate as deeply into the skin, and hence would be less irritable as compared to AHAs and BHAs.

Beyond exfoliation, PHA also offers moisturising properties to boost the skin barrier.

First Impression: Urban Jungle Swipe Right Liquid Exfoliant

I’ve used it on a weekly basis for about a month, applying it on freshly cleansed face (in place of toner). Here are my initial impressions:

  1. Packaging-wise, I like the feel of the bottle – smooth and easy to hold even for smaller hands. The white design with orange accents looks fun and stylish too.
  2. The liquid dispenses well just like a typical toner bottle. There’s some “control mechanism” in place to ensure you get just 1-2 drops per use. You don’t want too much to come out as we are talking about acid on the face. :)
  3. Does it sting? I experienced no irritation or stinging, even though I have rather dry skin. This PHA-formulated exfoliation does seem to be gentle on the skin.
  4. Is skin dry post-application? I didn’t notice my skin appearing drier with once-per-week application. I’ll update when I increase the usage frequency.
  5. Does skin peel? Only mild peeling at one spot near my chin on the second day.

Does skin look radiant and smooth?

Guess this is the question you are most curious about. Since this is a product introduction (not a full review), it’s too soon to give a definitive verdict after just a month of use (four applications).

What I can say is that I’m optimistic that Urban Jungle Swipe Right would provide gradual exfoliation over time. And since it is not irritating to the skin, it is easy to keep it within my beauty routine (and to continue such exfoliation). I can complement this with occasional professional peels for deeper exfoliation when needed.

All in all, I’m happy with this exfoliant so far and plan to continue using it for slow and steady results.
