If you are looking for an alcohol-free sunscreen suitable for sensitive skin, the Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun and Pollution Protector SPF50+ sunscreen is worth a closer look.
As I’m approaching the 50s, my skin has been giving me quite a bit of problem, mainly relating to dryness and flaking. That prompted me to explore changing my skincare routine, cutting back on products with drying ingredients and focusing on those that nourish and protect.
I’m happy to get to know about Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun and Pollution Protector SPF50+. Read on as I share a quick review of this dermatologist-approved sunscreen meant for sensitive skin.

Introducing Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun and Pollution Protector SPF50+
Hyaestic is a US-origin skincare brand founded with a very personal mission. When a doctor found mass market sunscreen too irritating for his pregnant wife’s sensitive skin, he set out to create a gentler alternative.
As such, Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun and Pollution Protector SPF50+ was born. This sunscreen is said to be formulated with a higher percentage of active ingredients (25% vs the typical 8-15%) to deliver stronger sun protection and skin defense.

It is said to also contain ingredients such as vitamin F, essential amino acid and DNA repair system (CoF™) that accelerates the repair of photo-damaged caused by solar radiation on the skin, including inflammation, erythema and DNA damage.
Is this a chemical or physical sunscreen?
The formula contains six UV filters, making it a hybrid sunscreen that combines the benefits of both chemical and physical filters.
Chemical filters absorb UV radiation and convert it into heat:
- Avobenzone
- Octinoxate
- Tinosorb S (Bemotrizinol)
- Octocrylene
- Ethylhexyl Salicylate
Physical (mineral) filter helps reflect and scatter UV rays:
- Titanium Dioxide
Why does it only have one “+” in SPF50+?
If you are used to Japanese and Korean sunscreens, you may associate more”+” signs with higher protection, especially when it comes to UVA ratings like PA++++. Right now, the highest protection is 4 pluses, i.e. ++++.

With Hyaestic SF64 sunscreen containing only one ‘plus’, does it mean it has lower sun protection?
Not really. The single “+” after SPF50 simply means the sunscreen exceeds SPF50 and is not related to the PA rating system. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures protection against UVB rays (sunburn), while the PA system – developed in Japan/Korea – measures UVA protection using Persistent Pigment Darkening (PDD) values, grouped into simpler categories:
| PA rating | Approx. PPD |
|---|---|
| PA+ | 2–4 |
| PA++ | 4–8 |
| PA+++ | 8–16 |
| PA++++ | 16+ |
With a PPD of 24, the Hyasetic sunscreen would fall into the PA++++ category, indicating very high UVA protection.
Now, let me share my experience using Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun And Pollution Protector.

6 things I like about Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sunscreen
It didn’t take me long to enjoy using Hyaestic Skin Fusion SF64 Sun and Pollution Protector SPF50+.
- Lightweight: I like it’s lightweight, lotion-like texture. It feels good on my dry and aging skin and I appreciate how the product doesn’t contain alcohol because my current skin (as compared to younger days) can no longer afford to have drying elements in skincare.
- Easy to apply. It spreads effortlessly onto the skin.
- Natural finish. Love how it leaves no greasy or shine after application. I also didn’t spot any visible white cast.
- Water resistant. The sunscreen is marketed as being water-resistant, similar to many Japanese sunscreens I’ve used.
- Lovely organic light scent. There’s a nice light scent and I’m surprised to like it as I typically am not crazy over fragrance. Since this product contains no synthetic fragrance, it must be from a natural source!
- Pimple-free. No pimple after using the sunscreen, even after jogging under the hot sun. So rest assured! :)

In terms of size and pricing, it’s comparable to other premium sunscreens, typically offered at 50ml and priced above $70.
