Review: Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss | Editor’s Choice

Lip gloss products are a dime a dozen. They come in different shades and finishes – matt, shimmery, high-gloss etc.  Just like many other ladies, I own at least 5 to 10 glosses at any given moment. So when I found myself repurchasing Clinique’s Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss time and again while the rest of the glosses just sat at the corner, hardly used and easily forgotten, I knew I’d found my Holy Grail Lip Gloss.

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss cured my Chronic Dry Lips

Clinique’s Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss is the first non-medical product that actually relieved me of my chronic dry-lips.

About 8 years ago, my lips started getting inflamed and red all the time. I’d visited the clinics numerous times, and gone through many allergy tests that did not give me any conclusive result. And then Clinique came to the rescue.

5 Reasons for loving Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss

1. Super Moisturizing

It lives up to its name of being SUPER moisturizing. My chronic dry lips took a major recovery after using Clinique Superbalm. It’s so hydrating and lasting that I’ll see layers of dry skin rolling off my lips at times.

I also use it as a protective layer whenever I suspect that the food in front of me may be laden with MSG. So yes, it’s weird, but I do sometimes apply superbalm just before eating.

 2. No Mirror Required

There’s not many lip gloss that allows for easy application even when you are walking or shopping. For instance, those that come with an applicator will require at least some aiming effort, and a mirror.

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss comes in a squeeze tube, providing easy application even when you are on the go.  Because of this reason,  I am able to apply it numerous times throughout the day to keep my lip in tiptop condition. This is also the same reason why Clinique Superbalm is my everyday lip gloss – one I’ll definitely bring along every single day.

3. High-Shine without Stickiness

Clinique Superbalm gives a great shine to your lips, making them look healthier and more plumped-up. It is also non-sticky and a real delight to have on your lips.

4. Nice Tint of Colour

I love the subtle tint of color it brings to the lips. I’ve tried a few shades such as Apricot and Ginger and love them all. The latest color I have is Raspberry which is really subtle and adds a healthy tint of red to the lips.

Raspberry is nice but can be a bit too sheer for some. Based on the colors I’ve tried, my favorite is Ginger.

5. Great for Sensitive Lips

Clinique Superbalm is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested. It also contains anti-oxidant that protects your lip from the aging process.

Price of Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss is retailing at $27 in Singapore. Not the cheapest gloss around, but totally worth it as you’ll actually finish using it. One tube with daily use normally lasts me around 3 months.
