MUAC BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum | Your man may love it!

Have you heard of nano technology in a moisturizer? MUAC BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum is said to be able to penetrate the skin for three levels of hydration. What’s more, it won’t be washed off during cleansing because it is capable in helping skin retain deep and long-lasting hydration.

The stunning high-techie marketing description sure caught my attention as I was combating on-off dehydrated skin and needed to restore my skin’s water level. Let’s see if MUAC BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum is a godsend to dry flaky skin.

About MUAC

MUAC stands for Makeup Artist’s Choice and is a rather popular online brand in the US.  I first came across this brand when I was using their DIY home peels which work great in exfoliating my skin and killing pimples instantly. Up till this day, I still swear by these products!

Since then, I have also tried other MUAC products and today’s review will be on one of their premium range products – MUAC BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum. Without any further ado, let’s see how good this product really is.

What’s Good about BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum?

1. Stays Pimple-free

BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum is my go-to serum when I needed something 100% blemish-free, such as when recovering from bad breakouts. It is also often used as a constant in experiments when testing new products.

By applying new product and BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum on each side of the face for a few days or weeks, I could identify and confirm certain properties (e.g. pimple-free) of the new product.

2.  Gentle Serum. Great for after Peel

When my skin felt vulnerable (e.g. after DIY chemical peel) and I needed a moisturizer that’s gentle to the skin, I would reach out for BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum.  So far, it has worked great by providing light hydration without causing further irritation to the sensitive skin.

3. Absorbs Quickly

BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum has a very light texture that absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue or stickiness. In fact, the face feels like bare skin within a minute or two, but less the tightness. I reckon it would be highly sought-after by those who hate having heavy stuff on the face. Men, maybe?

Hmm…sounds like it would be an excellent product to force encourage our men into picking up basic skincare regimen, huh?

4. Elegant and Hygienic Packaging

Most of MUAC’s products are very affordable and comes in no-frills packaging. The exception is the BellEvolve range which caters to those who love a little bit more luxury and pampering.

This explains why MUAC BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum comes in an elegant silver airless-pump bottle. It is hygienic as there is minimal contact between the serum and external contamination.

What’s Bad?

1. Not Moisturizing Enough as a Hyaluronic Acid product

The last hyaluronic product I’ve used worked so well it cured my skin of flakiness within just a few days. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum.  While my skin didn’t feel uncomfortably tight after cleansing, the dry patches remained.

It was disappointing as my expectation was high after reading the impressive marketing promises. I also expected more hydrating capability from a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) product than one without HA.

2. Diluted serum

The serum is so diluted it actually feels like water. Yes, I know serum tends to be lighter in texture, but BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum must be the lightest serum I’ve ever used.

As a habit, I often dispense face lotion on the back of my hand. With this water-like serum, I’ve had to place them carefully into the heart of my palm and close my fingers tight to prevent dripping.

3. Not worth the Price Tag

BellEvolve is the premium range of MUAC products. So naturally, products from this range don’t come cheap and that should be within our expectations. What sets this out of expectation is when BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum over-promises its hydrating prowess.

Secondly, the watery texture also meant that it depletes fast. Two pumps per application is needed for my small Asian face. The above photo shows the quantity of one pump.

Did you know? A watery product gets used up more quickly than one with thicker texture. That’s why emulsion or lotion often comes in larger quantity than cream.

Recommendation

BellEvolve Advanced Hyaluronic Serum would probably work great for those with normal to oily skin. Those who want to maintain a moisturized face but hate having an obvious film over it would love this product too.

I think it’s also a wonderful product to get our men started on basic skincare. Unfortunately, those with dry skin or flakiness would have to look elsewhere for a solution. Rating: 3.5/5.
