I’ve tried ZIIP HALO 2.0 for 3 weeks and am pretty impressed with the results, right from the start. I didn’t expect an at-home beauty device – typically associated with “lower power” – to achieve such remarkable anti-aging effects – and so quickly. I’d thought that could only be achieved at an aesthetic clinic!

Some benefits I’ve seen include radiant and firmer skin. Prior to sharing more before-after results, let me give you a quick introduction of ZIIP HALO 2.0.

What is ZIIP HALO 2.0?
ZIIP HALO 2.0 is a microcurrent facial device that originated in US. You basically apply some gel over your face, then glide this device over your face and neck. Treatment duration varies depending on the beauty effects you are after, but typically comes under 10 minutes.

17 Beauty Treatments via Mobile App
You’ll download the ZIIP app, then select the type of beauty treatment(s) you are interested in. Next, sync your phone to the device, and viola – just follow the video to complete the treatment.

Each treatment specifies the type of current used (Microcurrent and/or Nanocurrent) and intensity.
Difference between microcurrent and nanocurrent: Microcurrent primarily tones the muscles for immediate lift, while Nanocurrent focuses on collagen production and skin health. You can feel slight sting and vibration from Microcurrent, whereas Nanocurrent feels so comfortable you probably won’t feel a thing.
7 ZIIP HALO Plans to choose from
If you prefer a more structured treatment that guides you on what to do each day, you can also choose from the 7 ZIIP HALP Plans. They range from 7 to 30 days and are designed with different goals in mind, such as fixing breakouts, brightening skin tone, and lifting or firming the face.

What benefits can I achieve with ZIIP HALO 2.0?
According to ZIIP, the clinically proven results include the following:
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines by 28%
- Boosts plumpness and firmness by 27%
- Reduces acne by 44%
- Improves skin tone by 13%
- 97% saw immediate lifting and firming
This post will test if the marketing claims are true, at least in my experience.
First experience using ZIIP HALO 2.0
ZIIP HALO 2.0 comes in a box, bundled with three mini-size (30ml) conductive gels – golden, silver and crystal.
- Silver gel contains hyaluronic acid and is said to be best for a hydration boost.
- Golden gel on the other hand is best for a collagen boost
- Crystal gel is good for a glow boost
With the state of my skin being very dry and dehydrated, I chose to start off with the Silver gel.
Step 1: Charge device & download ZIIP app
Do take note to charge the device using the cable that came with it, as using other cables may spoil the device, according to ZIIP.
Step 2: Apply conductive gel
I cleansed my face, dried it thoroughly, then applied the Silver gel all over my face and neck. I need about 6-8 pumps per use.

Step 3: Select treatment via app
I chose “Collagen Boost”, a 10-minute treatment using low current. Then I click the “Start Treatment”, which prompted me to sync the treatment to the device (via bluetooth).
Step 4: Follow video, glide device over face
The first contact of device to the face would kickstart the treatment. I followed the video and glided the device over my face – it was intuitive and easy to use.

Well-made device: ZIIP could reach any part of my face effortlessly – temple, upper and bottom lips, undereye area, chin and more. Most importantly, the glide was smooth, without friction.
It also has this quality feel to it, which gave me confidence in its safety (which is important especially for a product that emits electricity current)!
Step 5: Clean the device; wash face
After treatment, wipe the device with a soft cloth, then cleanse it further with isopropyl alcohol.
As for the face, I left the gel on for a further 20 minutes to serve as a mask. Then washed the gel off easily with just water.
Post-Treatment: Any downtime?
The face appeared a little pinkish. But other than that, there was no pain or downtime.
Week-by-Week: ZIIP HALO 2.0 Beauty Treatment
I continued using ZIIP HALO 2.0 for the next 3 weeks. Check out my week by week experience and before-after results.
1st Week using ZIIP HALO 2.0
As shared earlier, my face was already flaking and dehydrated before using ZIIP Halo. Reason being I’d run out of my favourite, trustable face cream and my orders were still being shipped over.

Still, I was quite curious about the device (and also quite aggressive in wanting quick results) that prompted me to start with the strongest treatment “Face Lift”. This treatment intensity is listed as “extra high” – I felt tingling sensation. My teeth also felt some vibrations when the device was near the mouth area.
By the 3rd day, my face was already looking fuller and firmer. “Diong Diong like hard-boiled egg. Quite impressive!” was what I wrote in my diary.
TIP: Please do not scrimp on the conductive gel. I did and only used 4 pumps in the first week. That probably resulted in my skin remaining dry.
2nd Week: Can ZIIP HALO 2.0 be used on dry skin?
I did the high-intensity treatment almost 5 days in a row in week 1. While my skin texture was firmer, it remained dehydrated and flaky.
Hence, I decided to switch to a lower intensity treatment plan – Skin Barrier Repair. This plan mainly uses Nanocurrent – so the treatment was super comfortable. Almost felt nothing.

Nearing the end of week 2, my diary says, “Face looked pink and plump. Pores smaller!” My skin’s hydration level has improved, but not yet 100% restored.
TIP: If you skin is already irritated, do not be over-aggressive. Start with low intensity ZIIP treatment. The Skin Barrier Repair is a good option!
3rd Week using ZIIP HALO 2.0
Since the skin is no longer as dry, I decided to start week 3 with a medium strength treatment. The Everything Facial has intensity varying from low to high.
I learnt my lesson and was conservative – only did two such medium-strength treatments in the final week of test. And non were done on consecutive days.
“Skin seemed better, smoother.”
My diary continued with these notes: “Seeing pink, healthy, plump, radiant, firmer and younger skin.”
“Battery lasts so long. Haven’t needed a recharge yet!”
Before-after results (Week 3): Is ZIIP HALO 2.0 worth it?
The “after” photos below were taken in Week 3 – I had stopped using the device for 2-3 days to ensure the results weren’t due to “just-treated” or temporarily swollen skin.
Front View Comparison: ZIIP HALO before and after
Comparing front view, I see improvement in the nasolabial folds, and a more sculpted (sharper lower face).
It may not be obvious from the photos, but in real life, I do see the skin being firmer, denser and more elastic too.

Before-after results (Side View)
From the side profile, the improvement in nasolabial fold is more obvious.
Outside of photos, I also noticed smaller pores, perhaps due to the firmer and more elastic skin. Do you notice the skin looking more radiant too?

ZIIP Before-After (Smile widely)
Next, let’s see if ZIIP HALO can help with dynamic lines. First test is to smile widely!
And yes, I do see subtle improvement in crowfeet and undereye wrinkles. But the best and quicker solution is probably Botox!
Note: I had intentionally postponed my Botox treatment to better observe the full effects of ZIIP HALO on dynamic lines. So, my face was supposed to be more “wrinkled” in Week 3 than Week 0. And yet I could still see noticeable improvement after using ZIIP HALO.

Frown lines: Can ZIIP replace Botox?
While skin elasticity has definitely improved, ZIIP couldn’t do much for wrinkles caused by deep muscle movement. The best way to quickly reduce expression lines such as Glabella is Botox.

ZIIP Before-After (Looking up)
Another test to see if at-home microcurrent treatment can delay Botox is by looking up without raising my head.
There may be subtle wrinkle reduction as seen in the photos below, but I think ZIIP Halo’s strength is in skin firming, radiance building, pores minimisation than to combat wrinkles caused by deep muscle movement. Let’s not be too greedy (telling myself)! :)

FAQs: ZIIP HALO 2.0
1. How often should I use ZIIP HALO 2.0?
Use ZIIP 3-5 times per week, but no more than 6 times weekly.
2. How does at-home microcurrent treatment compare with professional ones?
For at-home treatment, you need to do it regularly (almost daily), unlike a professional treatment which could be just a monthly affair. Effect is said to be less dramatic and lasting for the former.
Cost-wise, at-home treatment is likely cheaper, since the device is a one-off purchase. Do however factor in variable cost, i.e. purchase of conductive gel. So far, I’m still into my first 30ml bottle after 3 weeks of usage.
3. What precautions to note when using ZIIP HALO 2.0
Some things to note when using ZIIP HALO:
- Take off your jewellery before treatment
- Do not glide device over the eye lid or along central column of the neck
- In my experience, using it after a shower is not advisable, as the device would create some tingly vibration when it comes into contact with my wet hair (inevitably).
- Also, please do not scrimp on the conductive gel. That was a mistake I made in the first 2 weeks that probably led to even drier skin. By the 3rd week, I was using 8 pumps per treatment.
The above is not comprehensive. Please refer to product website or manual for detailed usage instructions.
4. Is the device safe?
I had this concern too and googled to find that ZIIP HALO 2.0 is FDA-approved. But do note that microcurrent is not recommended for people who have/are:
- Pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- Undergoing chemotherapy
- Cancer
- Subject to seizures (including epilepsy)
- A cardiac pacemake
- Electronic implanted devices
The above is not comprehensive. Please refer to product website or manual for detailed usage instructions.

How much is ZIIP HALO 2.0?
ZIIP HALO 2.0 costs S$750. You can get 10% discount by applying this code – “CRAVINGSZP” – on ZIIP’s official website.

Is ZIIP HALO worth buying?
First of all, I like you to note that this post is sponsored (with ZIIP giving me 100% free editorial control). As with most sponsored post, I typically exclude a section like this to ensure my recommendation would not be seen as biased.
However, I am including this section as I am quite impressed with the results delivered by ZIIP HALO 2.0 and like to share my honest take.
I see anti-aging results
This device achieved significant anti-aging benefits and helped lift years off my face, quite quickly (you can see effect within 3 days).
It is well-made – be it the device or the app. Everything is easy to use. Close to a month of usage, and the battery from the first charge is still going strong. This attest to the quality of the device.
Investing $750 for a device that I can use for a long time is quite cheap (in my opinion) as compared to having my face treated at an aesthetic clinic. One treatment would easily cost more than the cost of this device.

But you need to take note of these points too!
Of course, it’s not an apple-to-apple comparison, given that aesthetic treatment by a doctor is more “powerful”, longer-lasting, and deliver faster results.
You’ll also need to have the discipline to perform at-home microcurrent treatment many days a week (since the effect may be less lasting). That involves a few steps such as removing your jewellery, applying gel, doing treatment and removing the gel.
And lastly, there’s a variable cost you need to factor in, i.e. the cost of the conductive gel.
Complement at-home with clinic treatment
I would incorporate both at-home and clinic treatment in my beauty routine – the former can hopefully help my more expensive clinic treatment last longer. :)
If you are fine with the subtle results seen above, and don’t mind investing about 10 minutes, 3-5 times weekly, then ZIIP HALO 2.0 is certainly worth considering.
I know I would buy one if somehow, this device goes missing (choy, hopefully not!). In fact, I’m packing this for my overseas trip which is something I typically don’t as I like to travel light. That’s how much I think I’m reliant on ZIIP HALO 2.0 already!
